To provide artwork for our kits, use the same process as regular screen printing.
Areas in your artwork that are black will be cut into the stencil to let ink through, whereas white areas will block the ink. Lighter shades of black (which looks grey on screen) will use less ink to create lighter areas. This kit is ideal for printing illustrations, graphics, text and photos.
Place your artwork on one of our templates (small or large). You can use the entire template area, since there's enough space allowed for ink and the squeegee.
When you’re ready, email your artwork to print@duplikat.co.uk - we'll review it and let you know when the kit will be ready.
If you get stuck or have any questions, drop us an email.

Preparation is key - keep your workspace tidy and have inks and squeegee close at hand. Test your screen on scrap fabric or paper first, to ensure the ink flows well and produces good prints.
We suggest using water-based inks, as oil-based are difficult to clean from the mesh. Screens are suitable for paper and fabric printing, with a mesh count of 120T. We recommend ‘Flat Fox’ for screen printing ink.
Place your screen on your material with the mesh side facing down. You’ll need clamps (which we sell here), a print carousel, or a friend to hold the screen while you print. Use an old spoon or spatula to apply a thick line of ink at the top of the mesh, outside the design area.
Using a squeegee at a 45-degree angle, drag the ink down the mesh toward you in a sweeping motion. You can push the ink back along the mesh in the opposite direction, or repeat the same motion. Gently lift the screen off the paper or fabric to see your print.
You can create multi-colour prints, or multiple designs by ordering extra mesh for your kit. The previous mesh can be carefully cleaned with soap and water, left to dry and peeled from the screen. The gel tape is reusable for your next mesh, or can easily be replaced (look for ‘reusable nano / gel adhesive tape’ online).
It might take several tries to get a good result if you're new to screen printing. There are many helpful videos online with tips for beginners - enjoy!

Can I re-use my Gocco mesh?
We’ve gently cleaned our screens with soap and water for reuse. We use water-based inks, but oil-based inks might be harder to clean. It’s easier to clean the screens while they’re still in the frame; just wash out the ink with a sponge and let them dry.Can I order new mesh designs?
Yes! We created this kit to be used again and again. New mesh can be purchased here. Can I print on t-shirts?
Yes! For this kit we’re using 120T mesh which is suitable for printing onto fabric and paper. How many prints can I get out of my screen?
Riso estimate you can get up to 1000 prints per mesh - we’ve never printed in those quantities, but if you look after your mesh there's no reason why you couldn't achieve this. Can I make multiple colour prints?
This kit is suitable for one colour screen printing, but there’s no reason why you couldn’t order extra meshes if you want to try multiple colour printing - we’d suggest checking out tutorials online for splitting up artwork into layers and aligning for print.
